The Architect

Our area is situated near the protected historical monument. Therefore our documents will get to Bâtiment France (Public Works Department which is responsible for protecting the cultural heritage of the French architecture) for examination.

I agreed meeting with the official architect to devoted the house draft and our project. The meeting went well and the construction of a log house is not a problem. Architect appointed for us, however, a few requirements: our house is built of logs but the corners of the crossing are not allowed. It does not pose a problem for us because the house is built Ikihirsi "City-corner" technique, without any excess ends of the logs.

Also, the natural wood color or varnish is not permitted, but the outer walls will be painted with an opaque color. Strong colors such as red is not allowed and the architraves  and fascia boards color will merge with the wall color.
